use the addition assignment operator to add the space (currently stored in char) to the current value of encrypted_text

It doesn’t look like you are using the addition assignment operator.

english is not mt 1°language, so i may be interpreting wrong. Inspite of that, i´ve tried every combination of += in the encrypted_text line.
i´ve been stuck for two days trying to understand my error

You should only change the line I highlighted, no other line.
