Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 43

Tell us what’s happening:

I’m new to coding, and I’m not sure what to do here.

Your code so far

# User Editable Region

text = 'Hello World'
shift = 3
alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
encrypted_text = ''

for char in text.lower():
    if char == ' ':
        char += encrypted_text
    index = alphabet.find(char)
    new_index = index + shift
    encrypted_text += alphabet[new_index]
    print('char:', char, 'encrypted text:', encrypted_text)

# User Editable Region

Hi @rafinur703 and welcome to fCC forum.
You’re doing great. And for this task almost there.

Check the line you worked on. `char’ is to be added and not the other way round.

:+1: Happy coding.
