Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 44

Tell us what’s happening:

The request is to assign the string ‘Hello Zaria’ to my ‘text’ variable, which I did.
'text = ‘Hello Zaria’
shift = 3
alphabet = ‘abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz’
encrypted_text = ’ ’

where else must I add the string? I have tried adding it also in other "text’ variables but it does not work

Your code so far

# User Editable Region

text = 'Hello Zaria'
shift = 3
alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
encrypted_text = ''

for char in text.lower():
    if char == ' ':
        encrypted_text += char
    else:
        index = alphabet.find(char)
        new_index = index + shift
        encrypted_text += alphabet[new_index]
    print('char:', char, 'encrypted text:', encrypted_text)
