You should not duplicate the text which you are turning into a link. Just enclose the link text between a pair of anchor tags.
EXAMPLE:
<!-- text without link -->
<p>Please visit my website for awesome content</p>
<!-- 'my website' turned into a link -->
<p>Please visit <a href="example.com">my website</a> for awesome content</p>
