Let's discuss your "Tribute Page"

I don’t have any critiques just wanted to say that this site looks really good. Well done

Hello there.

Good job finishing your first page, yay!

I think the borders are a nice touch.

One consideration I’d offer is to start formatting your HTML/CSS for better reading, i.e. indentation etc.

Happy Coding,

Hi guys! i just ffinished my tribute page. Please critique it!

Nicely done! There’s only 2 things I would change to make it really pop. I would either shrink the font of the main header or increase the padding so it all fits on one line. Next thing I would do is increase the font size on the timeline sentence so it stands out a bit. Good job

I used some of your edits and tweaked the code to make the body paragraph fit under the photo and added some space above the wiki link sentence. Thank you for your help.

Looks good. I really like your layout. The one issue I noticed is when you scale down the size of the page (so it’s phone/tablet size) the image begins to overlap the background. In my own page I corrected this by giving the image a width of 100%. I think you could also control the width with the bootstrap col-xs-xx class.

Hi everyone, I posted the link to my tribute page, but I did it through github ( https://jnktsn.github.io/TributePageProject/ ). Here’s the link to the codepen version of the project so you can see the code I created:

The reason I posted the page through github was because I noticed when you view the page on mobile with the codepen frame around it (at least on iPhone) the buttons don’t work. I’m really enjoyed making it, and I’m looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll make sure to fix that.

I followed your advice and used width:100%

Awesome thank you! You’re totally right it looks way better with the heading on one line.

Great! I’m glad it worked. I checked out your edit and it looks really good. I’ve found keeping my phone handy while I code and checking how my page looks on it helps a lot.

I hadn’t even thought of that haha. Thanks again!

Hey everyone, here’s my tribute page. It doesn’t look too good on some viewports though. Any advice is very welcome, thanks!

Thank you for your feedback. I’ll lookout for your next project when we complete those. Happy <div> tagging

I have experience with bootstrap already but doing this as a refresher

Hello there, I am a newbie here and having trouble in aligning one of my headers to the left side to align it with the rest of the paragraphs just after the ul & li tags.

However, I have no issue in aligning my headers or paragraphs before the ul tags.

This is how it looks like:

Tony lives in Palm Beach, Florida, with his wife, Sage Robbins.

His accomplished Books are:

  • Unlimited Power (1986)
  • Awaken the Giant Within (1991)
  • Giant Steps (1994)
  • Money: Master the Game (2014)
  • Unshakeable: Your Financial Freedom Playbook (2017)

If you see, the second “Click Here” doesn’t seem to align to the left side even if I tried using margin, padding or text-align to it and only aligns back to the same position with the ul tags.

Any suggestion or recommendation is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!:grin:
