Level assessment

Good evening. I’m not sure if this already exists and I’ve just missed it, but I’ve been trying to learn JavaScript for a while. Every time I restart during the holidays, I end up stopping for months, and the cycle repeats because of school. Now that I’m done, I was wondering if it would be possible to have some kind of level assessment so I can see where I actually am and continue from there. I feel like I keep starting the course from the beginning, which stops me from making real progress.

Since I plan to take a gap year to focus on improving my coding skills, it would help a lot if I could know my current level and pick up from that point. That way, if I ever have to pause again, I won’t be forced to restart from scratch and lose momentum.

Why do you keep starting from the beginning? Why can’t you pick up where you left off?

If you want to get the certification eventually then you could start with the certification projects: https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/javascript-v9/lab-markdown-to-html-converter/build-a-markdown-to-html-converter

Or look at the topics before that until one of the titles seems unfamiliar.

There’s no level assessment.

because I feel like I lack the knowledge to move forward

Then you need to move backward.

Go to the beginning. If there’s a topic you know well, like variables, then skip it.

Thank you very much oh and by the way if I wanted to build an app that works on both android and ios should I learn JavaScript thats what chatgpt told me but i wanna hear a second opinion
