Logging in on the new site - github intergration?

I’ve tried that with no luck, looks like there is a method that was setup for this exact situation.

I went to https://www.freecodecamp.org/deprecated-signin and signed in via Github and then entered my email address to link it to my profile.

Note, I had to log into my email address again and delete the account because a blank account was created when I logged in previously. Once I deleted the account and logged in again via the above method, everything worked.

@jbburf, how did you delete the account ?

In settings, at the end there is a section to delete the account.

Yeah, that doesn’t work for me, can reset but can not delete

It worked for me. What happens when you click “Delete my account”?

When I logged in after the change a new account was made for me, I logged into this account and went to the bottom to delete it. Once I did this, I was able to login via Github (depreciated login link) and connect my profile to my email address.

I get the Delete My Account modal to show and when I click on I am 100% certain.... nothing happens, the modal remains as is, however, when I do the reset option the modal disappears, presumably since the account has been reset.

I’m just trying to see if it is an isolated incident or if anybody else has the same issue before I email / report.

The two causes - adding an email to an existing account and not being able to delete accounts - have both been reported as bugs. However, any time you need your account to be modified in a way that cannot be done from the UI the only way to do that is to email team@freecodecamp.org. Quincy is the only person with the ability to directly access user accounts and change them (for obvious reasons).
