I made a small portfolio based off of what I have learned here. I know I still have a long way to go. I will change it later. What do you think so far?
Hey Vincin, I think you are off to a good start.
One thing I would recommend is that you make the color of the text darker. The light gray on white is going to be too hard to read for a lot of people. To be considered accessible, the text color needs to have a contrast of at least 4.5:1
with the background color. Right now you are only at 3.6:1
. There are plenty of sites that can help you find a color that has enough contrast. The one I usually use is the WebAIM Contrast Checker.
thank you for your advice. I will definitely reference this when I upgrade it later
Hi,
Keep the clean, minimal style of your portfolio while you progress, please! I’ve seen so many overly colorful examples that scream “amateur” on here, especially in the ears/ eyes of people you want to work for.
The photo makes you relatable, but get a higher resolution one once you start applying.
Your projects are still in the beginner stage, but you are aware of this and there’s nothing wrong with documenting your progress this way.
Wow @ringoj66
This looks SOOO GOOOOD
Hello Vincin,
Great work on the portfolio! One thing I suggest is you make the profile picture smaller and rounded so that it looks smoother.
Also, add some margin on top of the header. Maybe something like this:
Keep up the great work
Cheers!
It’s nice and clean but it is also a template, which in the end is fine and all but doesn’t really sell your own skills.
As said, the photo can use some improvements.
If you are up for the challenge I’d suggest implementing a light/dark mode theme. It doesn’t have to take much, but if you want it handled for you there are CSS frameworks that can help.
yes. I will take your advice. thank you
yes, thank you. I just wanted to get something started. I plan to change the photo and post more advanced projects later
