hello, in learn basic css by building a cafe menu step 17 the metas elements suddenly have an / at the end what is this for?
The / at the end of a self-closing element tag is optional. It does no harm to have it there but it is not needed and most “lazy” programmers leave it out because it’s one less key to press on the keyboard.
I just checked and that / is on the end of that meta tag started at step 4, so I don’t think it suddenly appeared on step 17. It’s been there the whole time.
ty I was just wondering since when we first did the meta element I didn’t notice it
