To qualify as a front end developer does one require excellent skills in photoshop or illustrator which involves professional logo design .or psd design. That is something I cannot do. I always thought it falls under the web designers repertoire. My understanding is that one of the skills of a front end developer is to convert statics elements given by web designers into functional web interfaces (ie psd to html/css). Is it otherwise?
No.
Web development can mean a lot of things, but this is one of them.
Hmm this post does seem to suggest otherwise …https://forum.freecodecamp.com/t/design-resources-for-front-end-developers/19492
First sentence:
Are you a freelance front-end web developer or are you thinking about becoming one?
Freelancers frequently have to take on design duties. A web developer can have design skills, but it is not necessary.
Thanks for clearing this out…
Just use Bootstrap. That’s what everybody else does.
