I haven’t actually attempted to submit the project, before I do, i expect that i should be able to send and see the data in the database, while console.logging the data as well on my terminal, then i can then submit, if i submit now and pass the test, i won’t still be satisfied with the outcome as i want it to work as expected

Why are you expecting the code you wrote above to populate the database? For that to happen, you would have to call the function createAndSavePerson. When you submit the project url, the tests behind the scenes will call that function, check that the database was properly updated, and then delete the record.

oh silly me!! I just figured that’s the essence of the exercise, ok, let me submit then and proceed i guess,

did go through, thanks, can’t believe i ve basically spent the whole day pondering this

sorry to bother you again, I noticed that data logged to my console as such:

  favoriteFoods: [
    'Rice and Stew',
    'pap with egusi soup',
    'Burger',
    'pap and chakalaka'
  ],
  _id: 638505599e65c442a47d1b69,
  name: 'John Obi Mikel',
  age: 36,
  __v: 0
}

i checked database, i saw ‘people’, but the collection was empty, so my question is where then did this Id come from, i thought ID is generated by mongoDB??
