National (USA) job search: What areas are less competitive?

The US is a big place and I’m willing to move anywhere for a year for my first job. Are there any places that aren’t quite as competitive? Or is it basically the same everywhere, at the junior jobseeker level?

EDIT: I’m looking for a Full Stack JS Web Developer position.

It varies dramatically by region as well as by job field. Your best source of information is the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
