Nested divs build a city skyline issue

hi, using the jaws for windows screen reader totally blind. did go and google and try to find someone else code to listen to. now need to do three new nested divs within the background-buildings, and not liking it. so what stupid thing am i doing. it is not passing, did do a python script to check for invisable characters in visual studio code, but it found none. so can you tell me how to get this to pass? tried bout 10 or more times. yes reset the lesson a few times, have got my code right as far as i know, can some one let me know some time today or maybe in a few minutes. pasting the error, the step and my html code. marvin.

You placed the three new div elements.
However, you moved the bb1 element.

Please reset the step to restore the seed code.
Then add the new div elements after the bb1 element.

it looks like you added the new code above the .bb1 element, instead of below it.
You can try to reset again and add the new code in the empty line given to you in the editor.

hi, still not working. pasting the error and my html code below. what stupid thing am i not doing correct. so how to get this to work. frustrating, and cannot see as totally blind. so help me out, why is it failing and how to fix? frustrated. yes reset the lesson again. help. marvin.

hi. okay will paste the error. and where should the code for bb2, bb3, and bb4 be put in which position. as totally blind and relying on a screen reader. and still not passing. will paste the error and my html code. so where to put it. this is driving me nuts. have tried about 15 or more times. reset the lesson a few times. so help me out. need your sighted help as a blind developer.

The following element is missing from your code.

It was previously nesting three div elements.

You created a bb1 element and nested four div elements inside it.

Please reset the step to restore the seed code.

Then add the new div elements.
Once they are inserted, they will need class attributes.

hi, wondering to then put three new divs for my project. and where do i put them. which set of divs. it is not clear and as i cannot see and totally blind and use a screen reader. have tried a lot of times and it is not passing. so something in the code, did do a powershell script for invisable characters for visual studio code, but found none. so can you tell me where to put it, so it can pass. step 15 of the build a city skyline project. have tried googling and looking at similar code, but think it looks almost the same. so can you help. did try with microsoft edge, but did not pass.

this step does not request for elements to be added inside the div with class of bb4

can you repeat in your own words what this step is asking for?

hi, well to have three other buildings inside the main building, and then add them. okay trying my best to understand. as i cannot see. so where to put the divs and says to add three new divs. but i dont know where they go, unless have to try. so can you help me out. what am i doing wrong? did post the code a few hours ago. did not really change. so can you tell me where to put the new three divs. so it is not passing and it is not very clear the message from the vallidator.

it says where, read again the instructions. It say specifically “Nest three new div elements in the .background-buildings container”

make sure that also your div with class of bb1 is in the right place, you added it in the previous few steps, if it’s not there (inside .background-buildings), reset the step to restore it

hi, totally blind. using jaws for windows 2025. have tried resetting the lesson for step 15, multiple times. have tried with firefox, chrome and edge, and keep getting an error, and my code is correct now. so is it a glitch or a bug with the vallidator. can you check on your end. so, where to put the three new divs. will paste the error and my full code below. please help, been trying for the last day and does not pass. very frustrated. and even rewrote the whole html from stratch and still does not pass. help. and very frustrated, the error message is vague. please help me out, how to get this to pass, step 15 of the city skyeline project. and cannot see, and so relying on speech. help!

I count 12 new div

Only do exactly what the instructions ask, nothing else. Only add 3 new div elements.

Hi there,

I’m working on the City Skyline project and have carefully followed the instructions to create exactly three new <div> elements with classes bb2, bb3, and bb4, all nested inside the .background-buildings container.

Despite resetting the lesson, pasting fresh code, and running tests multiple times, the validator still returns the error:

You should create 3 new div elements.

I’m using a screen reader and have double-checked my code — it matches the exact instructions and the required structure.

Could you please check if the test is passing on your end? If not, could this be a bug with the validator? It’s driving me nuts, and I’m stuck on this step.

If it is a bug, would it be possible for you to submit a support request to get it fixed?

it’s not a bug because people who provide the correct code are able to pass.

You can try to share your latest attempt if you need further advice.

Have you considered trying to work out why your screen reader is not able to tell you what is there?

In order to post your code correctly, you will need to add a line above the code that has 3 backticks in a row like this:

then put your code after it
then at the end of your code add a new line and place three backticks on it again
```

As I mentioned, there is no known bug with this step.
You can pass it if you follow the instructions.

Since you’re clearly struggling with your screen reader, it might be a good time investment to figure out how to use it for reading code.
(I also noticed you are struggling to post your code here, I’m not sure why exactly)

hi tried with nvda, and windows narrator and they just say to create three new divs. and no other info. and also tried with jaws. so what am i doing wrong? how to get it to pass? what am i missing. why is it not, have i got the other divs in the wrong position. please explain and help me out. not passing, and yes reset the lesson multiple times and stuck, no my screen readers are not telling me where to put the three new divs. can you test on your end, to make sure it is not a bug. frustrated. marvin.
