I’m new to DeepSeek and I’m interested in learning how to use it better. I’ve heard that DeepSeek is quite affordable compared to some other AI tools, which is one of the reasons I want to try it.
For someone who is just getting started, what would you recommend? Are there any good tutorials, use cases, prompts, tools, or tips that helped you learn DeepSeek faster?
I’m mainly interested in using it for coding, learning, and general productivity. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
If you want to learn coding, then don’t use generic AI to learn to code. Any AI can hallucinate, and without a solid foundational knowledge base, you cannot tell whether the information your are presented is sound.
Just about everyone on the forum who uses AI to learn to code posts that AI couldn’t help them. Take that with a grain of salt, if AI did help them then they wouldn’t need to post on the forum when they got stuck on a curriculum challenge, and we wouldn’t hear from them. But, as far as I know, no one on this forum has claimed that AI helped them with the freeCodeCamp challenges.
There maybe specific AI for learning to code, use them as part of a toolkit. They shouldn’t be your single source for learning.
If you are set on using AI though, learn about the strengths and limitations of the AI systems available. You’ll need to decide if spending the time doing the research will be worth it. I don’t think many people who use AI, just use one type over another. It really depends on what you want to do, how you want to do it, and the tools and methods you know about.
I really don’t suggest using ai for learning. I think it does help if you made a tiny mistake and can’t figure out why something works (like I make silly mistakes with not closing tags or writing .html instead of .astro). But ai just makes slop and only a dev can fix the slop. Slop can’t fix slop.
