It’s 2024 and I’m completely new to coding. I have been in the gaming industry for almost 20 years and hoping to shift into a new career field in tech. I was referred to FCC after having ZERO knowledge of a tech/computing background. I just want to share that at first, I jumped into the first set of lessons for Responsive Web Design (starting from the very beginning and hoping to complete it all in due time). I got through most of it… but what I’ve learned as a beginner is that I didn’t have a single clue as to what I was actually doing. I was just following each lesson wanting to get through to the next. What I’ve discovered after I reached the " Technical Documentation" certification was that I knew what I was doing, but didn’t . I am now going back and starting from the beginning to figure it all out again and it’s coming along much easier and understandable! Anyways , I just thought I’d put that out there. I will also be enrolling into a networking and cybersecurity program at my local community college and I’m also a mother of 3 trying to juggle in the time to break into this field. Wish me luck ! ANY AND ALL advise will be appreciated!
hello and welcome to fcc forum
- this is very normal, and part of learning, dont be frustrated rather try to learn from them by repeating those “needed lessons or use cases”
- thats very impressive, keep going, you will get used to them in no time
- good luck with that and happy coding
