Normalize.css file

I’m watching an old video html/css course, and in that course the instructor added a file called normalize.css and linked it to the html, he said this file is necessary to normalize css across all browsers , im not sure if it still relevant today, what this file for and do i still need to add it to my project?

Short story: Different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) handle the appearance of some HTML elements differently, e.g. buttons, dropdowns, due their built-in stylesheets. Normalize overrides these browser stylesheets.

Yes, it is a thing. If you use React, you can use it in Create-React-App.
