Challenge: Link to Internal Sections of a Page with Anchor Elements

The lesson is asking us to:

Then add an id attribute with a value of “footer” to the <footer> element at the bottom of the page.

It’s important to remember that <footer> is a tag and not an attribute! An attribute is something that comes with a tag. For example:

<a> is a tag/element.
href="" is an attribute within that tag.

Looking at the question again, we need to add an id="footer" attribute to a certain element that they’ve described. Take this information and see if you can solve the issue!

@AustinRetro, you are correct leaving the href there and changing where it points to.
Recheck the lesson text and look at the failing message. You need to add an id attribute with a value of "footer" to the <footer> element at the bottom of the page.
What you’ve added, id is not a proper element. It’s an attribute and you need to add it to the <footer> element.

Hope this helps.
