Since I’m also a newbie in code writing myself, I won’t be able to comment on your codes. Nonetheless, if I might suggest to make the background less obvious. At the moment, it makes reading of the text a bit difficult.

Good work for your first ever project. It takes time to become familiar with most things, so you are doing well with the knowledge you have so far acquired.

You might want to re-visit your page from time to time, having acquired more knowledge and see whether you can improve upon you work; bear in mind: less is more.

Keep going.

Taking on board your suggestions i went back and had a little play i think i have made it better.
