Please help with beginning Form element

Tell us what’s happening: I’m so confused on how to create a form element. I feel that I am following directions however I keep getting it wrong. I’ve been at this for a good 30 minutes and I am lost. Can anyone go into further details on how to do this? The directions are kind of vague.

   **Your code so far**

** < form action= “”>
< input>
< /form> **

I placed spaces after each beginning symbol so that it would show as a text

Challenge: Create a Form Element

Link to the challenge:

Hey so your form action is actually fine, I’m guessing your Input tag’s contents were erased? That challenge normally has this as the input

input type=“text” placeholder=“cat photo URL”.

I’m just saying what @drake.l said but slightly differently.

The intent of the exercise is to wrap the existing input tag in the form element - i.e. the tag, attributes, and closing tag, which you seem to have correct. You should not replace the input tag that the exercise began with. At this point, you can simply add the original attributes back to the input tag, which are the type and placeholder attributes and their corresponding values, as Drake has posted.

Excuse me if I sound verbose, I just want to make sure I’m using consistent terminology with the lessons.
