I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I think I am doing what the hint says but my code won’t pass.

  **Your code so far**
/* file: index.html */
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <meta charset="utf-8">
  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
  <title>Colored Markers</title>
  <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles.css">
</head>
<body>
  <h1>CSS Color Markers</h1>
  <div class="container">
    <div class="marker red">
    </div>
    <div class="marker green">
    </div>
    <div class="marker blue">
    </div>
  </div>
</body>
</html>
/* file: styles.css */
h1 {
text-align: center;
}

.container {
background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);
padding: 10px 0;
}

.marker {
width: 200px;
height: 25px;
margin: 10px auto;
}

.red {
background-color: rgb(255, 0, 0);
}

.green {
background-color: #007F00;
}

.blue {
background-color: hsl(240, 100%, 50%);
}

Should the code be in hex form? I super confused

I am doing just what it says. I have even tried being ''literal".
:man_facepalming:

it should be background: rgb

Its not. Didn’t work. I have been stuck on this step 49 for a whole day

Im having the same problem.

I have even tried other browsers(chrome and firefox), the code still won’t pass.

Same here, hope they will fix it soon

Try this.
.red {
background: rgb(255, 0, 0);
}

Then on the meta element can you change the UTF to caps.

Changing the “utf” to caps didn’t have any effect. The code still would not pass. :weary:

I truly wish there was a way one could skip this step and move on.

Can u share the error message

@jowacho

Hi @harford ,

Read again the hint carefully.

You should be using the background property.

In your code, you are using the background-color property, so change it :wink:
