The step you linked to doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the question you asked. Regardless, the src attribute tells the <img> tag where the image is so that it can be displayed on the page. Images live on a web server just like HTML pages do and thus they have a unique URL just like HTML pages do. If you want to include an image on your web page then you have to tell the <img> tag where to find the image using its URL.

I’m not sure if this is the question you are asking, I just guessed.
