I finished my preliminary portfolio site today, feedback is much appreciated 
This is the portfolio. I wanted to try out a framework this time, so I used this framework (Bulma). Additionally, I wanted to try my hand at making and implementing an SVG (motivation). I generated the embeddable svg markup using: SVGomg.
This the SVG that teepee in the corner? If so it looks like an icon. Did you make that with the tools you linked to? If so how easy was it compared to using a desktop application?
Anyway, I think the design is good although there is a lot of wasted space at the moment.
As it’s only the 2nd project, I would prefer to see this later on. Then I can give it a proper review.

Yes ! The icon is an SVG that I made. In the medium article I linked they provided a few types of software to use to create them. I normally use Vectr but for this icon I used the trial version of Affinity . A short review of each, Vectr is a very small program but can generate SVG’s it’s good for simple projects, the icon could likely have been created using it. Affinity appears to be much more robust, offering some incredible tools that mimic programs like Photoshop but with a focus on vector design. I did not get to play around with it much, but I would say either are easy enough to use.
I agree with the whitespace, I can utilize this space with more efficacy. Hopefully as I learn more I will be able to expand upon the design
