Psql: error: FATAL: Peer authentication failed for user "freecodecamp"

hi i am running the rational database course locally on vscode , i had to stop while busy and now im trying to get back to the course, when i log in i get the following error
psql: error: FATAL: Peer authentication failed for user “freecodecamp”

please advice

no luck unfortunately , I decided to just run the course in the browser.
