PyQGIS for DEM mapping

Hi freeCodeCamp team,

I would like to request a course on PyQGIS for GIS automation and spatial analysis. I’m interested in learning how to use Python inside QGIS to automate mapping workflows, load and process vector/raster data, work with DEMs, handle CRS/projections, run terrain analysis, and create simple scripts or plugins.

This would be especially useful for students and beginners who want to combine Python with real GIS tasks like elevation mapping, hillshade, contour generation, and map export. A beginner-friendly course with practical examples would be very helpful.

Thank you for helping make FCC better. Bugs can be reported as GitHub Issues. Whenever reporting a bug, please check first that there isn’t already an issue for it and provide as much detail as possible.

this is not something that would be possible in the interactive curriculum, and the courses in youtube are mostly submitted by volunteer contributors

why don’t you make your goal to create such a course for the freeCodeCamp youtube channel? I am sure there will many people thankful for this

I’m and some people like me are actually the ones who need the course, not the creator of it. I understand it may not fit the interactive curriculum, but I still wanted to suggest it because I think a beginner-friendly PyQGIS course would help a lot of learners.

If course creation is volunteer-based, I’d still appreciate it if this idea could be considered or pointed to the right place for contribution.

there isn’t a place where topics can be suggested to volunteers, each person choose to contribute a course on the topic of their choice of their own volition
