Question about ai upskilling for software developers

G’day everyone, David here bona fide human, no bots about it. I’ve have written this all by myself, so you can tell it’s the real deal and not at all AI generated.

I’m a software dev keen to suss out how AI’s going to shake up our daily grind. I am really interested in what I should be diving into now to stay ahead and thought that with the great content and article in the email newsletter that I would reach out to the community, in the hope that I could get peoples take on a couple of questions:

Which core skills are worth cracking into? Prompt engineering, building and training custom models, responsible AI/ethic?

Any good resources you’d recommend courses, blogs, GitHub repos or forum threads that cut through the waffle and give practical guidance?

Have you seen teams use AI into existing projects?

If someone’s already thrown together a solid thread or FAQ on this, I’d be stoked to see those links too. Basically, I’m after grounded, experience driven advice to map out a clear path forward. Cheers in advance for any insights!

I am particularly looking just to get a better idea of AI and how this might relate to an existing software developer.

Thanks, Seppo!!

howdy david,

in a nutshell, ai is here to stay and beyond… ai is being adopted everywhere (depending on use cases).

getting involved with them only makes sense…

have you tried looking into huggingface? or other copyrighted ai entities? try their docs and examples for a better understanding of their usage.

btw, never knew this word “seppo” before, interesting what i found out about this

happy coding
