I am having trouble with motivation for content I work a day job in Contruction, and the nature of the job make me very tired, but I make descent money and I work about 5-6 days a week. it has been hard for me to find the energy to do anything with coding and I am kind of cautious about getting a different job with less hours that would pay less because I don’t know how long it would take me to get a job with this or if doing FFC would even give me the experience to get a job. I am just wondering how realistic it is to get a job by doing FFC. I have look at other post on this forum that say you can but I was just doubtful. Any input would be apricated
Hey @vitomortalo99
I can tell you a bit about my experience, I was doing a job which was taking most of my time while approaching for the first time at coding and FFC and if I made it anyone does and you can as well.
I remember I was reading other posts of people who had done in the past and I was getting anxiously worried about me to don’t be able to do it or to don’t have the time to do it but at the end It worked out and I am sure eventually it will for you too.
I think, as many aspects of life, coding can be learn with two approaches:
There is the sprint method were a person invests most of their time learning as much and as fast as they can. This method means you might drop whatever job you do and fully dedicate the time to be a full time student.
Then there is the marathon approach were you have to slowly doing the transitions to the new industry, you slowly learn concepts while keeping your life as it is in the meantime.
I went for the marathon one as I could not afford to drop my job neither I felt comfortable in becoming a full-time student.
It was a long and hard marathon but It eventually paid off, I am sure It will for you too eventually if it something you really want.
I apricate the two approaches that you talked about I look at you profile and it seems like you were in a similar situation a few years ago although a bit harder as I don’t need to learn a new language to do this, I am wondering how long it took you with the marathon approach I know that comparison is the death of joy but it would help to have at least a general time frame of how long it will take also thank you for the kind words.
In my case It took around 5 years were I kept working and studying enough to not get over-stressed about it, I think the most important part is to enjoy the studying time as well, as like a hobby with as less pressure on yourself.
