Question in programming

Hi everyone! I just started the first lesson of the OSSU curriculum (MIT 6.00.1x / CS50). I am trying to understand the ‘Logic’ behind how the computer thinks. Can someone explain to me simply how a ‘Variable’ works in memory? I want to build a world-class foundation from day one. I’m a self-taught student from Algeria and I’m ready to learn from the best!
