Finally finished my random quote machine after hours of coding. I didn’t want to focus on the styles like changing background colors too much I can change those later.
For anyone interested, I took extra jQuery lessons here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMxGhHNOkCU&list=PLoYCgNOIyGABdI2V8I_SWo22tFpgh2s6_
The tutorials cover jQuery and Ajax so I would highly recommend them.
Feel free to use this API as well: http://quotes.stormconsultancy.co.uk/api,,, and in codepen add https://crossorigin.me/ before the API url at all times ie https://crossorigin.me/http://quotes.stormconsultancy.co.uk/quotes.json/

As always comments or advise on how to make my code cleaner are welcome.

Just a little tip, Check what happens when you are trying to tweet quote that has for example : or +.

Hey. Awesome observation I hadn’t seen it at all. It shows the colon but not the +, how do I fix it?

#4

Hey GarrusNap I fixed it. Check it out now.

Thanks, your post help me with Random Quote app. Also, people might like to know that the twitter quote breaks on a “;” semicolon character. You can find some info here about how to fix it (replace that character with what).

Hey,
Wow it’s been 3 months since I looked this project.
These projects usually take a lot of learning so it’s good to share resources I find. Thanks for the link btw.
You’re welcome, hope you share the resources you used to other guys as well.
