Challenge: Change a variable for a specific area

Link to the challenge:
https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/responsive-web-design/basic-css/change-a-variable-for-a-specific-area

You have to redefine --penguin-belly: colour; inside in .penguin (class).
Not by adding

background: --penguin-belly

just overwrite the colour from root.
–penguin-belly: your color; inside in the class it will overwrite the root color --penguin-belly: pink;

Challenge: Change a variable for a specific area

Link to the challenge:
https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/responsive-web-design/basic-css/change-a-variable-for-a-specific-area

Please check below.

  1. Here opening curly brace is missing, Because of this the rest of the CSS is not working.

.penguin // add opening curly braket
/* add code below /
–penguin-belly: white;
/
add code above */
position: relative;
margin: auto;
display: block;
margin-top: 5%;
width: 300px;
height: 300px;
}

  1. change background to position.

.penguin * {
position: absolute; }

  1. In the HTML section, About 2 closing divs are missing. please check the following.
    1. Remove extra div you have added at first line before this line
      <div class="penguin">

    2. On this place, Add closing div
      <div class="belly"> </div>

    3. Add another closing div at end of the html.

Please Modify the above so you will get that penguin design.

please let us know if this will not work.

Please read comments in code below. Mark it as solution for helping others.

.penguin { // <---- This is curly Bracket is missing.

  /* add code below */
 // here you set the penguin-belly variable to white for the .penguin class
    --penguin-belly: white;
  /* add code above */

The curly braces is the only issue nothing else is require to change, If you have not change FCC default given code.
