Should I move on to Data without understanding front end?

Hello everyone, I am seeking a little advice here. I am finally done with the front end libraries section after a very long time. However I am still VERY far from competent in React (what I want to focus on).
Should I move on to the data visualization? I normally go along with what the curriculum says but now I am concerned I will lose what knowledge i have from moving on too quickly.

Also, if you know any good react guides/tutorials you could post them here.

You can continue to make your own projects using React while you move on to other things in the curriculum. It just takes time and many projects for things to stick.
