In my opinion you should definitely go for it. These guys are obviously your friends if they keep insisting and they obviously want you on the team. It would also be really good experience for yourself. The more you surround yourself with better coders the easier it is for you to learn things. When they explain to you how they came up with a solution or even just the solution it gives you better insights on how to think like a programmer. There are even benefits to having you on the team. You being a less experienced programmer can give ideas that they may not have thought about it. Sometimes when I am programming I will over think things that can be solved very simply, but when I get some outside perspective It helps me to realize Iām over thinking the problem.
