Someone might have told be but I don't remember

Can someone tell me why paste and copy was disabled in the FCC lessons. Especially in the Bootstrap lessons, this is getting tough.

It isn’t disabled. “Paste” just doesn’t show up in the context menu because the monaco editor (the OS code editor that freeCodeCamp uses) has its own context menu. Ctrl+V will still work.

ctrl-c and ctrl-v still work. Generally we want new learners typing instead of copy-pasting though because the act of typing helps your mind engage and think about what it’s typing.

What is ctrl-c and v?

You can highlight text by clicking and dragging your mouse across it. Then hold the Ctrl button and press C and you will copy that text. Go to your text editor and hold the Ctrl button and press V and it will paste that copied text in.

Oh! Okay. Now I understand.

Like @JeremyLT said though, it’s best to type the code out so you are actively thinking about what the code is/does.

yeah, you are right. I normally would, it just is really bad when you have to type the exact same thing about 8 times.
