Step 12-Error Messages aren't warranted

Tell us what’s happening:

I believe the correct answer is:

h1 { text-align: center; } h2 { text-align: center; } p { text-align: center; }

but the interface keeps returning that I should not " add new style tag just add new css rules to existing style tag". I don’t understand what you are asking me to do or what I am doing wrong. I need explicit examples as to how their answer is different from mine.

Your code so far

<!-- User Editable Region -->

<style>
  h1 {
    text-align: center;
  }
  h2 {
    text-align: center;
  }
  p {
    text-align: center;
  }
</style>

I can’t see what code you have above your existing style element, but the code you have in your Editable Region is correct.

Your solution works from my end. Please try one of the following steps to move forward.

Click on the “Restart Step” button and force a refresh of your page with CTRL + F5 then try to paste the code in again.

or - Try the step in incognito or private mode.

or - Disable any/all extensions that interface with the freeCodeCamp website (such as Dark Mode, Ad Blockers, or Spellcheckers), and set your browser zoom level to 100%. Both of these factors can cause tests to fail erroneously.

or - Ensure your browser is up-to-date or try a different browser.

I hope one of these will work for you.

It could go like this selector1 , selector2, selector3{} but that didn’t pass, reset and try again.

that’s not for this step
