Hi! This is the first page I’ve ever built so any feedback would be much appreciated.
I like how the photo section has symmetry; many new designers choose pics off the web that are all different sizes and the whole page looks off as a result.
I feel like you chose your colour scheme to match the team colours or a logo, maybe, but what looks great in a logo does not necessarily translate well into a highly readable site. The gold-on-blue kinda gives me a headache when trying to read all the great information.
As a non-artistic person, when designing a front end that’s not strictly white-based, I rely on websites that show colour combinations that work for the web, like this one:
Hi Jacey, thank you for your feedback.
At first I chose different photos and struggled a bit with the lack of symmetry, tried to change the resolution and finally settled for the ones you see so I’m glad you like the result.
As for the colours, I guess I got to hung up on the idea of the website matching the team logo’s colours and didn’t pay too much attention to its readability. I’ll try to change that so that it looks better and includes a bit of gold and blue as well.
Finally, thanks for the link, I’ll be sure to use it.
