Why did you change this element to an h1?

It will help. When I undo that change, your code passes. The instructions say:

Then add an id attribute with a value of “footer” to the <footer> element at the bottom of the page.

You’re still supposed to have a footer element, in addition to the id. I didn’t know why you changed the element tag. You might want to reset the code and start fresh if you can’t fix it.
