Survey Form - Build a Survey Form

Tell us what’s happening:
I’ve pasted the following instructions:

Note: Be sure to add <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css"> in your HTML to link your stylesheet and apply your CSS

But do I need to create my own CSS? If so, how do I do so? Every tutorial I’ve followed so far has created one for me.

  **Your code so far**
/* file: index.html */
<!DOCTYPE html><doctype>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,
    initial-scale=1.0">
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
  <h1 class="title" id="title">freeCodeCamp Survey Form</h1>
</title>
  <p>Thank you for taking the time to help us improve the platform</p>
  <form id="description">
  </head>
  <body>
    <form id="survey-form">
      <input type="text" name="name" required placeholder="Enter full name">
      <label>Name</label>
      <input type="text" name="email" required placeholder="Enter E-Mail Address">
      <label>E-Mail</label>
      <input type="text" name="number" min="0" max="120" placeholder="Enter Age">
      <label>Age</label>
    </form>
  </body>
/* file: styles.css */

Challenge: Survey Form - Build a Survey Form

Link to the challenge:

You perhaps overlooked this Step:

Most of the challenges have a similar Step:

I’ve pasted this into the head element. Am I putting it in the wrong place?

<!DOCTYPE html><doctype>
  <html lang="en">
      <head>
      <meta charset="UTF-8">
      <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,
      initial-scale=1.0">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
      </head>
    <h1 class="title" id="title">freeCodeCamp Survey Form</h1>

The reason I’m asking is because when I trying to create a css element to center the .title class, the formula is appearing as text on the form instead of being applied to the title.

I don’t see anything in your styles.css file though?

Here’s an example:

<!DOCTYPE html><doctype>
  <html lang="en">
      <head>
      <meta charset="UTF-8">
      <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,
      initial-scale=1.0">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
      </head>
    <h1 class="title" id="title">freeCodeCamp Survey Form</h1>
.title {
  text-align: center;
}
  </title>

It looks like this is in your HTML file. It should be in the separate CSS file.

Have you done the practice projects? Like those practice projects, there is a tab at the top of the code window that lets you select your HTML or CSS file

I deleted that comment right after I typed it. Sorry.

Yes - I forgot there was a separate tab.

Thanks!
