Ideally, you should use the skills you’ve learned to build something which passes all of the required tests but also has a personal touch. The more creative the better. As long as your webpage passes all of the tests, you can make anything you want!

Yes, as long as you pass the requirements, and code it all yourself, you will pass the project. Nothing wrong with using the content provided in the example, but adding your own style is definitely a good idea.
