Minimalism is definitely in fashion, but the high-contrast colors and the single monospace font call to mind 8-bit games. It’s also a little hard to read. You might like this resource. I haven’t looked into it, but it’s all about creating minimalist UIs.
On the JavaScript side of things, figuring out the Wikipedia API is no small feat, and I love the snarky error messages. “Type a word, this is nonsense.”
