You have picked a really cool layout there. I undertand what you are trying to achieve on layout, however you are just little behind. You will need to change your HTML mark up to achieve what you want. Than apply proper CSS. I would recommend that yuo should draw what you want to achieve on layout on paper first an than you should go write HTML and css.
I see that there is overlaping of text on image.You should group enclose related part in
and so they stay separated.
Also work on making it mobile friendly. When you will achieve the exact layout you want, you will be knowing quite good CSS. Keep up the good work. Nice job.
