Tried changed to a new email account for existing account, but still can login existing account

hi,

I don’t understand on the freecodecamp account. Example for my ABC@gmail*com, I go to settings > email, to change email address to a different email address as BAT@gmail*com. manage to authenticate successfully from my BAT@gmail*com as well.

Now able to get authentication code at BAT@gmailcom when try to login from freecodecamp. However, when I try to login previous email address : ABC@gmailcom on freecampcode website, I am still able to receive OTP code at ABC@gmailcom. Upon successfully login, it just shows that the email address is still not changed and maintained at ABC@gmail.com under settings.

Shouldn’t freecodecamp website block ABC@gmail*com from receiving OTP code upon successful change of email address on settings ?

are you sure that with the old email you have not created a new account?

if it’s still the same account please write at support@freecodecamp.org
