Trusting the Process

When I first started learning Javascript a few months ago, I saw the Rosetta Code “100 Doors” problem and had no idea how to solve it. I was so intimidated by it. I sent it to my genius Data Scientist friend, and when he solved it in minutes I was impressed.

100 Doors Problem

Just the other day, I was having a beer at Buffalo Wild Wings, when I suddenly understood the problem. I went home and cranked out a working solution pretty quickly. It is actually not a difficult problem at all.

I just wanted to share this with people who feel as if they aren’t seeing visible progress in their coding skills. It is a process of trying, struggling, taking breaks, and growing. It doesn’t happen overnight, but if you put in the time and effort, growth will naturally occur. It is inevitable, Mr. Anderson.

Celebrate the tiny victories. There’s nowhere to go but up!
