Unlocking Code Sharing

When can I be able to share the code I need help with?

If it is not too long of a code block, you can share it here. You just need to put three (`) backtick symbols before and after the codeblock.

Alternatively, you can upload it to GitHub and share the link, or paste the code into CodePen and share the link.

When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard. The “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) will also add backticks around text.

Note: Backticks are not single quotes.

If you need help with a freeCodeCamp challenge, just click “Get Help” > “Ask for help”. This will automatically put your post in the correct subforum, add your code, and include a link to the challenge. (You will need to add to the post to describe the problem you are having, what you have tried to solve it, and what your specific questions are).

When you are brand new, there are limits on your ability to post links, but you should be fine if your code is on CodePen, repl.it, etc.
