Use CSS Selectors

Tell us what’s happening:
Why is this code wrong? I cant seem to figure this out.

Your code so far

<style>h2 {color:blue;}</style>CatPhotoApp</h2>
<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

Your browser information:

Your Browser User Agent is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.186 Safari/537.36.

Your code should look like this:

<h2 style="color:blue;">CatPhotoApp</h2>

You are using the style tag incorrectly.

No, it should not. The whole point of this challenge is to show how to use CSS selectors instead of inline styling as you have shown above.

You successfully created the h2 selector which will make all h2 elements’ text blue. However, you no longer have a complete h2 element. It appears you accidentally deleted the opening h2 element tag. You do have the closing tag (</h2>). Just add the opening tag back in and you should pass with no problem.

Ah, I see. From their post it looks like they were doing an inline styling. So the link to the challenges do work… I did not bother to click at it looks like they take to you to the first lesson. Is that a bug or is that just my computer, Randell?

When you click on the link for a challenge, it should take you directly to that challenge. It has always worked for me.

I understand that now. But shouldn’t the link say the challenge it is taking you to? Right now it says “Learn to code with free online courses, programming projects, and interview…” Here’s a picture. Maybe it is just my setup.

That is the way it is designed. It is a little confusing, but if you mouseover the link you will see the challenge name in the url.

That is completely confusing! It makes no sense to me, I thought it was a bug and did not click it at all. I’m a complete newbie so I don’t know how hard it would be to change it but it seems it would be easy? Just have some template that pulls the challenge title and inputs it into the post. Seems that would make the most sense from a UX standpoint. But what do I know! I’m 3 months in! Thanks for the help!

The forum is open source software called Discourse. It is a Discourse feature and not Free Code Camp. It might be something which could be done, but it is probably low priority at this time.

should include a <h2> tag to properly use the <style> h2{color:blue;}</style>
