Visual Studio code practice tool

I started using Visual Studios as my practice tool for workshop and certification project curriculum. One of the features I noticed is the suggested lines as I write out the code. I never bothered using those suggested lines, mostly slight hint by briefly looking at it.

In the workshop and certification project, it already had some boiler plate but I still wanted to start from scratch to learn better with it cause consistency is my key to learning stuff.

I am curious if anyone used other software as their learning tool. Anything you’re willing to share. Good or bad, what didn’t work and what did, how much it helped, etc.

do you mean Copilot suggestions? I turned them off, I am quite annoyed by their presence

Me too, I turned everything off, and it’s the best choice that I made.

If you want to get faster with shortcuts, opening the Keyboard Shortcuts menu with Ctrl+K Ctrl+S (or Cmd+K Cmd+S on Mac) is a good starting point. You can search any action and rebind it to whatever feels comfortable.

Extensions like Keycode or Key Promoter also help by showing shortcut reminders when you click something with the mouse. If inline suggestions are distracting while you practice typing syntax manually, you can disable them in settings with editor.inlineSuggest.enabled.
