Where do you think the future of web will go? Do you believe that web development (complex/customized sites) will be automated by AI or rendered obsolete in the near future?

First things first. As for future of web development, I believe we are heading strongly towards unified IoT software (run anywhere, anytime and on anything) with only thin UI layer being on client side, while all processing, business logic and heavy lifting will be done by servers.
As for AI automation, I don’t believe this will happen in the near future. We are not capable of creating AI sophisticated enough to really solve complex problem on their own. So far we managed to create AI that learns how to solve issues (ML, NLP) by learning patterns and rules. When it comes to creating patterns and rules, AI is far from doing it, from being creative and think on their own when given previously unknown task to solve.
