Pretty slow. I want to buy MAC but cannot afford for the one I want (In my country everything is expensive, like 3 times the price in USA and as a student I dont have a salary -.- )
Anyway I bought SSD and it should hopefully improve the speed 
where do you live? You could probably get much better performance from your existing hardware using ubuntu 
I use a macbook pro mid 2014, everything is good except the hard disk is too small

You don’t need anything powerful until you have to run virtual machines or edit video or things like that. I used to work with a professional software dev who codes on a tablet when he’s not at his desk…
You should get a lot of disk space especially if you plan on putting more than one OS on it.
