I have a full-time job (not in IT), so I study at different times, but usually:
- I read some book while I am in the bus.
- At work, if I have some free time (either break or we don’t have clients and paperwork) I watch some video tutorials or do simple codewars challenges or play with codepen. Since I might need to switch to clients any moment, I can’t really concentrate on more difficult tasks.
- I work on projects on the evening.
- At weekends I usually work on projects and read/watch things related to my projects if I feel I don’t have enough knowledge to implement my project features.
Of course, I have evenings and days when I don’t do anything, when I relax or do other stuff.
Which app do you use to type / Code on the iPad?
You just login on FCC via- iPad?
I study for more than 3 hoers at night during week and more than five on weekend. Next month I am on vacations, so is going to be full time for a month and thinking about quiting my actual job to dedicate more time to programming.
I am a high school student so I study between exam days - for instance, if I have an exam on Sunday and on Thursday - I learn from Monday to Thursday, trying to have as many hours as I can coding.
I work full time (in IT) so I divide my time on weekdays by:
- Reading and catching up on FCC Forum posts in the early morning
- Working on projects and challenges during the early evening
- More reading before bedtime
I tend not to study non-work related topics while on the job just because my days are so busy.
On the weekends I work on projects and challenges early in the morning because that’s when I’m most productive. The late afternoons and evenings are reserved for reading and study.
I’ve also found it helpful to add gaps of an hour or more between longer study sessions to give me time to both relax and reflect. This includes “shutting down” at least 30 minutes before bedtime so I have time to unwind. I’ve found that this makes it easier for me to fall asleep
All work and no play really does make one dull.
Freecodecamp works just fine. I use CodePen and CodeWars also. I think I’ve seen a few JavaScript sandbox apps for iPad as well

I have a full time job but I do have an hour lunch break. I try to use that hour to study or work through a project, read about something related to development etc.
Then when I come from work I will study for around another hour and then usually I get some physical activity. Come home, make dinner, study some more.
On Sat/Sun I up my hours as much as my life permits.
I don’t have a strict study schedule and am working through the content at my own pace. Although quitting everything does sound tempting
I study freeCodeCamp 40 minutes on the daily basis.
I study 8 hours every day. (School online allows me to do that) I try and treat it like a job! Free Code Camp ( Without a doubt), codecademy, and mainly with https://www.youtube.com/user/pizzapokerguy87 because this guy goes into FCC Ziplines in depth! I am NEW to coding and even though a lot of it goes beyond me, I can’t get enough of it! I also use sublime to follow along with FCC but change it up in my editor to a way that resonates more personally. That has made a major difference for me!
I am a stay home mum at the moment, so I study at every free occasion. Usually it’s in the mornings and in the evenings, if my daughter has a nap in the middle of the day I use it too. I’m learning to code 2-6 hours a day. However even when I’m not coding I’m thinking about my projects or bugs, so coding is alway on my mind

I wake up early, usually two hours before I’m due in class/work and get it done then. Otherwise, the day will get in my way and it won’t get happen.
