Why the square bracket for value?

Tell us what’s happening:
in this problem Records Collection, I have managed to understand and code through the hints but I couldn’t understand the use of square brackets for “value” ?
Please explain me what is it or if I am just forgetting some syntax here records challenge

thanks! that was helpful. First I wasn’t able to relate it with my code but I ran a console.log statement to see what was happening and it was all clear !!! :smiley:
