Working with Accessible Media Elements - What Are the Accessibility Benefits for Good Link Text, and What Are Examples of Good Link Text?

Tell us what’s happening: A misalign of ideas.

The first question in here is that “Why is clear and descriptive link text essential for those using screen readers?” with the answer being “It ensures the link text is read aloud clearly by the screen reader.”. I suspect that there’s a miss align of idea in here because the question is about the clearness and descriptiveness of link texts and I do not see how it aligns with the answer being about the functionality of the screen readers on the quality of it’s vocalization.

Hi.

I thnk I see what you mean. If the link text is read aloud it helps the reader to understand if it is clear.

No, it’s about the answer being inaccurate. Link texts are used as navigational tools and the answer is about the clarity of audio of screen readers which is a misleading reason. (Thank you for referring Github Issues!)
