You should have a footer selector

I keep getting this response.

.footer {font-size:14px;}

this is what I have in CSS

and this in html

<footer class="footer">

any help would be so appreciated

I’ve edited your code for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').

you are using the class selector .class You should use element selector footer
then your CSS { font-size:14px; }

here is the link. It’s the cafe menu, step 78. I apologize if this link is too long.

Welcome to the community.

@jwilkens.oboe basically provided the solution for you.

In the provided code, it is a class selector, not an element.

Class selectors have the dot before the item. id selectors have # before them, and element selectors do not have anything before them. All use curly bracket selectors.
Examples:
.home {
property: value
} class selector

#home {
property: value
} id selector

home {
property: value
} element selector.

I hope this helps you.

Happy coding! :slight_smile:
